Foods To Avoid for Arthritis

Did you know there are foods you should not eat if you have arthritis as these will agrevate your inflammation?

You should limit your diet with Dairy. Dairy has been shown to aggrevate arthritis especially cheese. Eat and Drink Less Dairy on a Diet for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms may flare in response to specific proteins found in dairy products. Some people with rheumatoid arthritis who report intolerance to milk have antibodies to milk proteins.

Salt and preservatives, fried and processed foods should also be avoided. Studies have shown that consuming fried and processed foods, such as fried meats and frozen meals, can actually worsen inflammation. ..

Corn oil - Corn oil contains some healthy components like vitamin E and phytosterols, but overall it's not considered a healthy fat. That's because it's highly refined and high in inflammatory omega-6 fats that should be limited in a typical Western diet

Alcohol and Tobacco - we already know the affects of these on the body and they should be avoided or severly limited.

Sugars - Consuming too much processed sugar causes the body to release pro-inflammatory proteins called cytokines. Cytokine levels are already high when you have inflammatory arthritis; that chronic inflammation is what causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in your joints. High amounts of sugar in your diet result in an increase in AGEs, which can cause inflammation.

What you can do: Cut out candies, processed foods, white flour baked goods, and sodas to reduce your arthritis pain

Eggplants, peppers, tomatoes and potatoes are all members of the nightshade family. These vegetables contain the chemical solanine, which some people claim aggravates arthritis pain and inflammation.

An ounce of dark chocolate a day should suffice for this effect, experts suggest as it is high in antioxidants and helps with inflammation.
